Taste and See...

Taste and See...

"Taste and see that the Lord is good. Oh, the joys of those who take refuge in him!"[Psalm 34:8]

Scripture tells us how God made us right in His sight. (Romans 1:17) So why do we struggle to remember this in our faith walk? Unfortunately, we encounter our own insecurities, negative influences of others, and attacks from spirits of comparison, fear, doubt, pride, etc. at any given moment. This can then lead to our standard of measure being wrongly placed outside of God and His will for us; and instead of growing in our journey with Him, we can become stagnant and stunted.

Thankfully, we are invited daily into true spiritual growth by Jesus through His life-giving Word, filled with all the nourishment we need for our bones and souls. (Proverbs 3:5-8) We, just simply, are not meant to remain the same...instead, we are to continuously grow in Christ as we remain submitted to Him. God teaches us to move forward, forgetting what is behind, focusing on the hope and future of His promises ahead. (Philippians 3:13) This means that as the LORD continues to do work in us, we have to remember we can't expect to have the same spiritual hunger and thirst now, as we once had when we first said "yes" to Him.

Think about it. As an adult, you don't hunger for milk when you now have teeth and a digestive system that is mature enough to handle steak. No, your hunger increases, and you crave and require more nutrients. So, do you go back to a milk diet as a 45 year old? No, you prepare a yourself a heartier meal, one that will satisfy. What would happen if we applied that same understanding to our journey and relationship with God?

Let Him bless up your palette. Meditate on His Word. Let it marinate richly in every thought, word, and action as you grow through each day. Receive and eat plentiful from the plate of good SOUL food, which God prepared so generously for you now. Live from a place of faith to faith by tasting and seeing that the Lord is good indeed. Not only will it strengthen you in ways you never imagined, but it will transform your spiritual walk into the fittest it has ever been. Eat up, Y'all. Be blessed!🦋
